White Sox Sign Veteran Reliever Robbie Ross

Sergio Garcia, Real Estate

An experienced real estate agent based in Chicago, Illinois, Sergio Garcia has sold more than 2,500 properties since joining Chicago Real Estate Leaders in 1995. Beyond his professional pursuits, Sergio Garcia is an avid fan of Major League Baseball's (MLB) Chicago White Sox.

Less than a month before the start of the 2018 season, the White Sox added to its bullpen depth by signing left-handed reliever Robbie Ross to a minor-league contract with an invitation to spring training. A 28-year-old native of Lexington, Kentucky, Ross was selected by the Texas Rangers in the second round of the 2008 MLB Amateur Draft and played three seasons with the team before joining the Boston Red Sox in 2015. In 116 relief appearances with the Red Sox, Ross allowed 118 hits and had the same number of strikeouts in 125 innings. He also walked 48 batters and registered a 3.82 earned run average.

Ross was limited to eight appearances in 2017 due to elbow inflammation and a back injury that required surgery. Other low-cost relief pitchers brought in by the White Sox to compete for full-time roles in the bullpen include Xavier Cedeno, Jeanmar Gomez, T.J. House, and Bruce Rondon.
