Five White Sox on Baseball America's Top 100 Prospects List

Sergio Garcia, Real Estate

An alumnus of Hyles-Anderson College, Sergio Garcia has worked in real estate since 1995 and sold over 2,500 properties as a sales manager with Chicago Real Estate Leaders. Beyond his professional pursuits, Sergio Garcia is a passionate fan of Major League Baseball's (MLB) Chicago White Sox.

The White Sox haven't made the playoffs since 2008 and finished the 2017 season with its second-lowest win total (67) since 1981, but the future appears bright for the rebuilding franchise. Baseball America released its annual Top 100 MLB Prospects list on January 22 and it featured five White Sox players. The Atlanta Braves led all MLB teams with eight players on the list, while the San Diego Padres, Tampa Bay Rays, New York Yankees, and Milwaukee Brewers all had six. The White Sox's crosstown rival, the Chicago Cubs, didn't have a single prospect ranked in the top 100.

Outfielder Eloy Jimenez was the top-ranked White Sox player at No. 4, while pitcher Michael Kopech was ranked No. 11. Jimenez hit 19 home runs and recorded 65 runs batted in across three minor league teams in 2017, while Kopech, a former first-round pick of the Boston Red Sox, recorded a 2.88 earned run average in 134.33 combined innings with the Birmingham Barons and Charlotte Knights. Other White Sox players to make the top 100 include pitchers Alec Hansen and Dane Dunning as well as outfielder Luis Robert.
